Hinged Secondary Glazing Overview

Hinged secondary glazing units operate like a door, swinging open to provide easy access to the original window. This type is ideal for areas where regular maintenance or ventilation is needed. Hinged units offer excellent insulation and can be customised to fit various window sizes, styles and can also be hung from either side. Hinged units typically open inwards, so it is important to consider any current factors like blinds or curtains.

Extra Options

While the idea behind secondary glazing is for it to go unnoticed, there are several extras we can incorporate into our units while still maintaining this sentiment. Fly screens, for example, are a completely clear addition that allows properties to be easily ventilated, simultaneously preventing flies and bugs from getting in. Equally, units can be supplied in any desired shape with arches, helping you to accommodate even the most awkward of aperture sizes.

Glazing Options

There are multiple glazing options, styles, and thicknesses possible with our range of horizontal secondary glazed units, each designed to enhance either safety & security, thermal efficiency, or noise reduction. All secondary glazing comes pre-glazed with 4mm clear glass as standard, with available options including laminated, toughened, and K glass.

Finishes

Our secondary glazing comes in three classic finishes: White, Black, or Brown. For a more personalised touch, frames can be sprayed in any RAL colour or supplied unfinished to suit your specific requirements—all available at an additional cost. Timber subframes are prefinished in white as standard, with optional colour-matching available to ensure a flawless finish for any interior.

A COLOUR TO SUIT YOUR SCHEME

Blend your secondary glazing effortlessly to match your existing interior and exterior design. With thousands of RAL colour options available, we’ll help you create a finish that fits seamlessly with your space.

From heritage properties to modern residences and commercial spaces, our colour-matched frames are designed to complement any setting beautifully.
